In just two very short weeks we will be on our way to Vegas! It's funny because this is the second two week countdown to our wedding. The first countdown was a bust, but nothing can stop this wedding! I am still a little sad about Cabo, but not as much as I thought I would be. If we would have went to Cabo I have no doubt that the wedding would have been fantastic, but it would have come and gone. With the Vegas wedding, we get to go on a 12 day cruise AND have a fantastic wedding. Everything worked out as everyone told me it would.
I had a little "scare" with my wedding dress. I tried it on Wednesday night because I wanted to see what it looked like with my new necklace and earrings and also to make sure it fit still. Well...it didn't. OMG. It was so tight and the top of the dress looked horrible!! My arm and back fat were hanging over the top! Holy crap. I was so worried about it. I thought I gained weight. I jumped on the ellipitical, did push-ups, sit-ups and leg lifts all in hopes that I could fix the fat problem. I also decided I wasn't going to eat for the next two weeks. Who am I kidding? Me, not eat? ha! So I took it to an amazing seamstress last night and I pick it up today at lunch! It's already done!!! She is amazing.
Ok. I have work to get done. Alex's little brother comes in today. It should be a fun weekend! We are having a little get together tomorrow, so that should be fun. Maybe I will remember to take pictures?

It seems to always be Monday!
Monday comes to quick. I know I bitch about it always being Monday, but it really always is!!
The weekend was nice. We didn't do much really. Friday night...crud, what did we do on Friday night? Oh yes, we watched the movie Bolt! I think I may be losing my mind. Anyways, before we wathced the movie, I picked Alex up and we headed to Chick-fil-A for some din-din. On our way there it started to rain a bit. Not too bad. A little thunder and lightening here and there. Well, that changed quickly. While we were in the drive thru line it started to pour. I mean torrential down pour! When it was our time to order we realized the jackasses that built the place put the damn cover on top of the ordering speaker the wrong way, so when I opened my window...I, along with my car, got soaked!! By the time we got our food it was coming down even worse. I felt so bad for the girl working the window because she was drenched! Driving home was fun. Although it was scary because I couldn't see a damn thing on the road, we couldn't stop laughing. Safe, huh? Bolt was a really cute movie. It was nice to relax on the couch. I opened all of the windows so we could see out. Of course, about 30 minutes after we got home the storm stopped and it started to get sunny out. That's Midland for ya!
Saturday we woke up to it pouring outside. Yippie! The thunder woke me up a few times before Alex finally woke me up and asked if I was going to my workout class. SHIT! How could I forget my workout class? He didn't want me to drive, so I ALMOST didn't go. Of course I went. The class was INSANE! I almost didn't make it to the end. Afterwards Leslie and I stopped at Ross to see if there were any good finds. I got two cute pairs of sandals and a basket for my closet (I love baskets).
I got home and went crazy on my closet. I have been getting sick of it being unorganized. I threw out so much stuff. I contemplated giving it to Good Will, but so much of it was old and icky. No one would want my icky old stuff. I threw out about 15 pairs of old shoes and an entire black trash bag of stuff. It felt good to get rid of it all, but also sad because now my closet looks bare to me! I really need to go shopping, but there is NO WHERE in Midland to get cute clothes at! I dusted everything, rearranged, vacuumed and put everything back to where it should be. I will take a picture and post it.
After I attacked my closet, I cleaned a little and then took a very relaxing LONG shower. I then decided that I needed a pedicure! ha! I got ready and had one of the best pedicures I have ever had. Hands down. It was pure heaven.
That evening we went to dinner with J, Tracey and Addi to Clear Springs. We always have such a good time with them. Addi is really opening up to me. It took her awhile to feel comfortable with me, but now, she loves me! We colored and played games before and after dinner. Then we all went bowling and had a blast!! Poor Tracey couldn't bowl though. I felt bad. She's very much pregnant with twins, so she was our cheerleader. We had a little to drink, but the beer tasted nasty, so we only shared two pitchers. I did pretty well on my first game! I bowled a 118 and then it went down hill from there. Alex and J kicked my butt the other two games. After bowling we played a few arcade games. Addi and I played air hockey (she kicked my butt).
It was almost midnight by the time we got home and Alex was still ready to have a few drinks. I wasn't really in the mood though. I had one beer and we sat outside while he had a cigar and talked awhile. Shortly after we came inside I passed out on the couch. Poor Alex. He wanted to hang out so bad and I just didn't have it in me! Luckily, I think his brothers are coming in from California this weekend, so he will have someone to party it up with.
Sunday was rather lazy. I relaxed, watched tv, went to get my two toes fixed that I messed up bowling (it was so hot in there that my socks melted the paint on my two big tows and messed them up)! I am anal about stuff like that. Alex said he couldn't notice, but I could! He also said that if anyone is getting that close to my toes then he has a problem with them. ha! After that I went to Target and spent way too much money for stuff I didn't really need. Well, I did need hair products, but all the other crap I ended up getting wasn't needed. I tried to prevent this by only getting a carry basket, but of course by the end of my shopping trip I was struggling through the store trying to carry the over stuffed basket. I am a dork. That was the extent of my weekend! I did pick up salads from Rosa's on my way home from Target...mmmm! Heaven!
I didn't watch True Blood last night though because I was TOO tired! Tonight, I WILL be watching it! I can't wait!

Monday...
It's Monday. Blah. I am in a better mood than I was upon waking up though. I DID NOT want to come to work today. It was hard getting out of bed. I was half asleep until about 9:30 this morning. The coffee finally kicked in and I am doing much better now.
Our weekend was pretty nice. Friday after work Alex and I went and had dinner at Dicky's. It is a really yummy kinda fast food like barbeque place. It was amazing!! The service was realyl slow, but the manager apologized for it. Apparently the people in the back got confused? Not sure why they were confused, but oh well. We didn't care. After dinner we relaxed on the couch and watched Yes Man. We liked it. It was a little cheesy at points, but it was worth watching nontheless. It was a very relaxing night.
Saturday I woke up bright and early, cleaned up the house a little and then headed to Body Combat. This is the second Saturday of doing that class. It kicks my ass. One full hour of nonstop kickboxing. Wow! Leslie didn't end up going, so I was all by my lonesome. There was a point that I wanted to just walk out because I was so freaking tired, but I stuck it out. I am pretty sore today! It was amazing. After workout I tanned and then by the time I got home the pest guy was there to spray. They didn't tell me that the animals had to be locked up (Orkin didn't have us do this) and we needed to get out of the house for 2-3 hours. WHAT!? I wish someone would have warned me! I was all icky from working out and tanning and didn't have a chance to shower, but oh well. We headed to the mall, shopped, ate lunch, and then headed to Sam's Club where we spent way too much money. By the time we got home it had been over 3 hours! I cleaned the house while Alex relaxed and played WoW. Showered and by the time I was done getting ready Leslie came over. We had planned on having people over, but everyone was out of town or busy, so it was just us, Leslie, J and Tracey and their daughter Addi. It was fun though! It was very chill. We sat outside, had some beers and just talked. After they left (around midnight)we headed over to Liz and Kevin's. haha. We shouldn't have done this. Alex was a little tipsy, so needless to say, we didn't stay very long.
Yesterday was heaven. I did nothing. Nothing at all. I watched Twilight, but kept falling asleep during it, so I kept having to rewind it and watch it again and again. HA! I baked chocolate cupcakes which I brought up here to work today. I made dinner and watched more TV and that was the extent of my day! HEAVEN! I know once we have a little one those days are LONG gone, so I might as well enjoy it while I can!
Alex is on a baby kick lately. He wants a baby so bad. I do too, but it's just adorable for him to talk about it. I love him!
Well, I better get back to work!!

Happy Hump Day!
It feels like this has been a slow week. I have had a really hard time getting up this week. It takes me about 3 hours to wake up. Coffee helps this process, but I still kinda feel like I am in a fog. I am also PMS...so this could very well have something to do with it. Not only do I feel blah, but I feel like I am in some kind of a rut. I am missing home more than anything. I miss my family. My friends. My old job. My old office. Being near the beach. Eating sushi. Everything. It comes and goes. I know I have talked about this before, but that icky feeling of being homesick is back. It will never go away, and I am fully aware of this. I just need to deal. I need to be thankful for what I have and move on.

So, Michael is doing much better. He is now at Baylor doing rehab. He can now walk a few steps with help, push himself in a wheelchair, ride a stationary bike and he is now eating solid foods, which is amazing! I can't believe tomorrow it will have been a month. Time is flying by. I went to dinner with Autumn on Monday when she was in town (she left to go back to the hospital this morning). It was nice to see her away from the hospital. We had a couple beers, which was needed and had a few laughs. I was out of it (due to lack of sleep from the night before, and maybe a little bit too much wine), so I know I wasn't very fun, but it was good to get out. I miss her. I miss Mike too!
Our wedding is a month away. Wow. I am ready. I am more than ready. We should have planned a Vegas wedding to begin with. It is SO much easier. The ceremony is done. I picked a package and picked the flowers and that is it. I don't know if we are going to do the vows we had picked out for the Cabo wedding. I need to ask Alex that, but other than that...done. Oh wait...music. haha. That shouldn't be too hard. They have a list of stuff that we can choose from. I am slightly nervous about the cameras in the chapel. We had planned on having a videographer for the Cabo wedding, but decided against it for Vegas, but there will be cameras that will stream a live feed of us getting married. I believe anyone can watch it. I should probably check on that one too.
The reception is still up in the air. His father is going there tomorrow and plans on looking into restaurants for a possible dinner. I don't really like this idea, but what can I say? I was happy with the thought of just going back up to the room after the ceremony for some cocktails and drinks. No worries. Plus, we are having our ceremony at 7:30 p.m., so by the time we are done with pictures and everything, it will be around 9 p.m., which I think is WAY too late to be eating dinner. Oh well. I am going with the flow. How ever it works out, it will be perfect because I will be married to the man of my dreams. I will FINALLY get to wear my rings too! It's been too long.

I need a break...
I am so happy it's almost Friday. This week has been LONG! I thought it was Friday this morning when I woke up. I hate when that happens because Friday never seems to come.
I seem to be in a rut this week. I don't know what I feel. I miss California like no other. I missed our really good friends baby shower this past weekend. Pete and Emily are awesome friends and I hate that we couldn't be there to celebrate with them. She said it was a ton of fun though. Her husband Pete is such a sweet guy. He goes above and beyond for her. The love between the two of them makes me smile. They are truly meant to be together. He planned a suprise baby shower for her (he even designed and drew the invites). Here is how she explained it:
He had the gardeners come and plant a bunch of flowers everywhere and they put new wood chips in the planters too. The backyard had tables and chairs with pretty table cloths, and there were two bbqs set up, and the house....wow!! He had the painter come and fix the area that abe ate (remember the garage door?) and he had cleaners come and clean the entire house. He rearranged the house and put so much baby stuff around. It looked so good!
How sweet is that!? I wish I could have seen it! She said she will send me pics, which I am really excited to see.
I am so ready for our wedding to be here already. I ordered new invitations yesterday. They are very simple, but they work. I already went all out and fancy on the last ones. I want to get a stamp or make stickers that say "Take Two" on the back of the envelope. I think that would be a cute touch. I am not stressed at ALL about this wedding though. Alex still needs to go pick out a suit, I need to work on the favors and we need to decide what to do about food and alcohol for the cocktail reception, but other than that...there isn't much more to worry about, which I really like!
Have I mentioned how excited I am about the cruise!? It's really all I can think about. I think I am more excited about our honeymoon than the wedding! ha!

Life...
Has been insane. I think things are finally starting to settle down a little though.
Our really good friend Mike was in a really horrible motorcycle accident on May 14th. We didn't know if he was going to make it. He wasn't wearing a helmet, so most of his injuries were on his head. He had 4 skull fractures and his brain was swelling considerably. He has been through so much in the last 3 weeks. They went in and took out a piece of his skull on the left side to relieve some of the pressure and that did the trick. He was moved out of ICU this past Friday into a normal room. He can now talk and he actually sounds like himself finally. He looks amazing too. It is so great to see him doing so well. Autumn and Mike are two of our best friends and we are thankful to have them in our lives. Mike is truly a miracle. I have watched it right before my eyes.
We booked our honeymoon and have the wedding almost planned. Vegas wedding at the Bellagio on July 11th! My dad's birthday. That is such a special day for me! I already knew that my daddy would be with my on my wedding day, but having it on his birthday makes it that much more special to me.
We will be taking our honeymoon in August and I cannot wait for it. We will be going to the following places:
Venice, Italy
Athens (Piraeus), Greece
Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey
Istanbul, Turkey
Mykonos, Greece
Naples/Capri, Italy
Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy
Florence/Pisa (Livorno), Italy
Monte Carlo, Monaco
Barcelona, Spain
12 days of pure bliss. I have never been anywhere, so it will be nice to see a little more of the world! AND...we have a suite! The last two cruises I have taken were inside cabins. They weren't horrible...c'mon, it's a cruise! BUT...it is going to be AMAZING to have a balcony and a little extra room in the cabin. There is also a bathtub! If you haven't been on a cruise before the rooms and the bathrooms are TINY.
I have more to write about, but I am so busy at work that I just don't have time. More later!
